I absolute love teaching. It is so incredibly rewarding seeing the joy learning an instrument can bring to a student of any age.

I specialise in teaching teenage and adult students in drum set and marching percussion. As such, I generally don’t take students under 12 year of age unless they are particularly motivated or have a strong musical background already.

I am especially passionate about helping advance drummers improve their hand technique and musicality and have worked with students right up to university and post graduate level to help them in these areas.

My focus is often on how we learn, how to motivate ourselves to practice, and the best exercises to help achieve the technical outcomes required to allow the music to take centre stage. My general rule is that if I can’t tell exactly why I am teaching something, I probably shouldn’t be teaching it.
